As a part of my Master's, I have created a series of tarot cards that visually encapsulate the essence of my thesis on Neolithic architecture. Tarot cards, tied to the feminine through its historical use in divination and symbolism, serves as a medium to reveal the core design principles of these ancient cultures. On one side of each card is a plan or section of a Neolithic building in white line work on a black background. When the card is flipped, this architectural drawing is overlaid on top of an illustration that elucidates the specific design concepts discussed in my thesis chapters. The act of flipping the card symbolically mirrors the uncovering of deeper knowledge and the multifaceted nature of these matrifocal societies, highlighting the layers of meaning and the profound connection between architecture, femininity, and spirituality in the Neolithic Era. Each chapter has four tarot cards: one is a principle card which encapsulates the design element, while the other three cards explore the design of a specific building. Each chapter’s tarot cards are unified by a distinct colour scheme and design style.
